Mittet AS is a family-owned company established in 1946. Today, Mittet AS operates three factories, two in Norway and one in Lithuania, in addition to contract manufacturing in Estonia. The business is founded on the production of textiles for various purposes, primarily based on synthetic textile fibers. In the beginning, textiles for home use, such as curtains and bedspreads, were produced. Additionally, bathrobes and eventually the popular electric underblanket were manufactured.

Today, the company primarily serves as a subcontractor to other industries. However, it also produces finished products where its own raw materials are a significant component.
