Protex is a Norwegian-owned family company with a long history in producing and developing various textile products. Our story began in 1966. Read more about our story.

Our business is based on being both a partner and producer, as well as having our own brands and niche products. We believe in partnerships and collaboration throughout the value chain, including in our sustainability efforts.

Protex Balti provides services focused on the development and manufacturing of textile products. We are proud to be a partner with well-known companies such as Trimtex (sportswear), Hilleberg (tents), Ottobock (suites for restoring and improving independence for people with mobility challenges), Hansen Protection (survival suits / thermal protective aids, and furniture / boat covers for Norwegian boat brands), as well as with prestigious Finnish fashion and lifestyle brands.

Protex AS – Norway 

Protex Norway has developed its own brands, such as our Ragnarok collection, which is specially designed technical workwear for the aquaculture industry. We are also known for the “Nesnalobben”, traditional wool shoes with a long history, as well as Røroslabben and Femundlabben, which are also developed by Protex.  

For many years, Protex has offered various types of uniforms, choir and confirmation robes. Since 2021, we have owned the brand Figura, which specializes in brass band uniforms.  

Additionally, we have framework agreements with public and private companies for various types of footwear and other niche textile products.

Our efforts in design have been recognized with the “Design Excellence Award” in collaboration with Sintef. The HiP hip protector received this prestigious award in 2015, and the following year, our Ragnarok clothing collection was also honored with the same recognition.

Protex Balti AS 

Our production takes place in Estonia, in close collaboration with other partners, focusing on innovation and value chain development. The majority of our customers are from Scandinavia, placing a high priority on fast service and high quality.   

Our main business areas are: 

ProtexTech: Technical and smart textiles, furniture, sportwear and R&D 

ProtexWear: Fashion apparel, workwear, uniforms, tenders

Our head office together with a factory is located in Tallinn.
Additionally, we have production units in Pärnu (co-located  with Trimtex, one of our key customers) and Pärnu-Jaagupi. In total, we have about 230 employees and all sites are certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
